Great Kids! (series of posts)

We had a fantastic time at Adam’s house.  We are pleased he is going to Dental School.  Portland will be convenient for the family reunion, too.  We had such fun visiting with Denali and Carter.  Carter was a little young for playing games, but Denali was great for reading books to and watching her antics.

Tom got to work gate building and sealing stuff and Adam caught a few more rats in the attic. They were also busy sorting and packing for their move.  There house is lovely.  The front yard has roses all across the front next to the sidewalk.  Beautiful.  And an attractive barrier to keep people in… or out of the yard.

We had a great time with Savannah’s parents and brother and grandmother.  They are such a nice family.   We had dinner with them on Sunday—which was also the day they had Carter blessed. Yum!  Good food.  Good conversation.

Of course we had to check out Harry and David’s and buy some candy.  And Adam still had a stash in the freezer, and of course since he couldn’t move it and all, we were forced to help him reduce his supply.  We were happy campers as we munched our way south on Wednesday. We listened to Outlier by Malcom Gladwell.  It was a fascinating look at how culture, birth date, and opportunity influence success.

We spent an enjoyable night at Robert and Jen’s in Brentwood, then continued south to Mom’s.
Before we left Brentwood, we stopped at two U-picks and got 8 lbs of strawberries and 6 lbs of cherries.  Oh!  They were so lovely.  The trees were full of cherries and the strawberries were large and easy to find.  We enjoyed cherries and strawberries the whole time we were at Mom’s.  I was surprised they lasted a week or more—both that they didn’t spoil, and that we didn’t eat them faster.
